We have all asked ourselves, “how does the Instagram algorithm really work?”
For most businesses on Instagram, this has been in the forefront of our minds since the controversial move away from a chronological feed.
I personally found it harder than ever to reach targeted audiences, convert followers into customers & attract them to my clients’ pages, plus, it felt like I had to spend a lot more time online to improve engagement on these posts.

• Instagram feeds are not just based on who someone follows, they are also based on who & what they LIKE. The official word from Big Brother on it is that this is based on “past behavior on similar content and potentially machine vision analyzing the actual content of the post.”
— When Instagram first broke the news of the new algorithm last year, they commented, “The order of photos and videos in your feed will be based on the likelihood you’ll be interested in the content, your relationship with the person posting and the timeliness of the post.”
